The H and K Chronicles: About us!

Holly: I have a Bachelor's degree from Berea College in biology (graduated in 2012!). Yes, I know I'm nerdy and/or perhaps slightly masochistic. I have done quite a few things since then, but in my defense, it's because I still don't know what I want to do with my life. And you know what? That's OK. God has blessed me greatly! I currently work for the wonderful Grow Appalachia at Berea College, where I'm absolutely thrilled to not only be based at my alma mater, but also to be also indirectly working with some of the most hardworking and inspiring group of people that make it worth getting out of bed each morning for! When I'm not busy doing my best to make it happen, you'll probably find me at a coffee shop or at home reading, cuddling with my kitties, or watching something on Netflix. Or taking part in some kind of shenanigans with Kelly. Oh, and there's J. He pretty much rocks my socks!

Kelly: I am a 2013 graduate of Berea College with my BSN degree. I LOVE sock monkies!!! Since then I have been working in behavioral health; my former job was a lot like The Office (UK version of course). I spent about 18 months working with mentally ill adults and a little over a year working with recovering alcoholics/addicts. Lord knows I'm not a perfect person, and I'm not trying to be. After 3 years in the same place, I felt a calling to transition into travel nursing and am weeks away from beginning my first assignment. My personality is described as being "bubbly"; just the joy of the Lord sneaking up on me. I love Jesus, coffee, taking care of people and my pet babies!!! I don't know what I'd do without my church family, phone calls from home and hugs from friends. For now I'm going to enjoy living in my Richmond bungalow, taking care of the pet babies, loving Jesus and loving people! Thanks for sharing in our blog journey through life, joys, struggles and whatever else tickles our fancy. :D
