Kelly: Sadly, I'm worrying about two things right now, and they're both quite simple.
1. Finding a job. Not just any job. I can find a job anywhere if I know where to look, rather a nursing job. I realize I'm only 9 days post-college, but to be honest I'm getting frustrated. I've applied to so many places, some in February and March and still haven't heard anything! I've had one interview and haven't heard anything from that one yet! I'm just hoping and praying I don't give up the nursing job search to the point where I'm just looking for anything just to pay the bills. I've worked too hard and too long for this degree; I just want a chance to use it.
2. Passing the boards. I've studied and studied and studied and studied and studied. But I still keep wondering what if that's not enough? I keep telling myself I'm sure I'll do fine, but there's that chance. There's always that chance that I won't pass the first time. Then what? Wait 45 days later and take it again? I don't know. I just don't want to let Berea down; the nursing program has worked hard to keep it where it is today. I've never been that great with standardized tests before, yet I have done quite well on my last three HESI's. I just wish I could stop WORRYING SO MUCH! Easier said than done, right? I really am trying to stay positive and keep the faith, but some days are easier than others. But for now, I will keep studying and I will hold a provisional nursing license, meaning someone has to babysit me until I pass. The good thing is it's good for 6 months. Ya'll, please pray for me; I'm doing the best I can but sometimes I just get really frustrated.
Holly: My debts. Granted, I don't owe that much student loan debt compared to the majority of college grads, but still...it's enough to make my skin crawl sometimes. I do have a job, and I'm grateful, but currently my loans are on deferment for about 2 more months, and then I have to start paying them back again. With my current job I don't know how that will work. I don't make all that much, and God only knows how much interest has built up since then. I don't know...not really sure what to do at this point. I suppose pray that something else will come up, but until then, just keep working and saving.

So, it's 12:30 on a Friday afternoon...
Holly: So........................................
Hi everyone! *waves* How's everyone doing? I'm usually still eating lunch right now, but sis and I ate early today and now I'm just killing time before my dreadfully boring Spanish class. Listening to "I Want to Break Free" by Queen (only because I had NO IDEA that this great song is by Queen). My computer is currently operating on no battery..."life support", as Kelly put. Kelly's about to leave for her psych nursing class; she has an exam so send happy thoughts to her!!!!!!!
Shout-out to one of our lovely readers/followers: glad you are having a superb time in London! Wish we could be there too! :)
Oh, Berea students got paid today! Yay for income!
Um...yep. That's it. Have a wonderful day filled with hugs! <3
UPDATE: Dreadfully boring Spanish class got cancelled and got attacked by my advisor's sweet chocolate lab. Life is good.
UPDATE AGAIN: Sorry, but this one's huge: Just checked my email, and the Berea College Board of Trustees has elected Berea's ninth president! A big day for Berea College indeed! So happy and excited!

VICTORY!!!

| Old picture from last year. Love it because it fits today's theme :] |
Kelly: "But the hard times will come. And we'll keep moving on. We're moving up.
Life, hope, trust, faith, pride, love lust, Keep moving on.
Laugh, cry, live, die.
Make the best with what you're given. This ain't dyin; this is livin." -Good Charlotte, "Moving On."
I serve a mighty God! I really do. Everyday of my life I do not deserve His love, mercy and grace. Earlier this week, I think in the previous blog post, I mentioned a big test that I HAD to pass in order to continue on with my nursing education. I won't go into the gorry details, because you can just read the previous post in order to know what the criteria and stipulations were. Took it the first time on Monday, missed 6. Took it the second time on Wednesday, missed 4.
This brought me to last night. I went to bed at 11:30, but didn't fall asleep till about an hour later. I sat awake, thinking and praying about the future, because I honestly did not know what I was going to do. After listening to Michael W. Smiths "This is Your Time" and saying a final prayer, I finally went to sleep. The pressure was on; I even had a conversation with Holly earlier and was trying to talk myself out of everything. I had made plans and done research on other alternatives for a new major. Got up this morning and had a lonnnnnng conversation with God again. I asked Him to remove my fears, doubts, worries, insecurities and all the bad thoughts, because all that can be left are good and positive ones. I sat down with the test in front of me and just said to myself "I know what I'm doing. I am capable."
Give or take 45 minutes later, and I finished. Pacing and pacing, found a friend of mine, gave her a hug, hopped around a bit, then..."Kelly." Then, "you missed 3. Fix one, and you'll pass." CRAP!!!!!!! Sitting back down in the chair, I furiously searched for the 3 I missed. Luckily, they were the easier questions, which means i DO know what I'm doing. The question: "Toparol given 150 mg ER daily." Hmmm...I thought...ER can mean two things. Enteric Route, which was what I had, but what else could it mean? What else does it mean? Think, dummy think. Then...EXTENDED RELEASE. I wrote it in all caps and turned it back in. And that was it. I was gone, realizing after I left the building I left my cup of coffee on the table. Oops.
Ran, well, walked rapidly to the Science Building, met up with Holly and her roomie, danced in the hallway, ran outside, danced outside, turned a cartwheel on the Fairchild lawn, hopped around some more. Holly's roomie bought me a soda from Berea Coffee and Tea (BC&T for the new readers that may come along). So it's official; I am competent in Nursing math and am MOVING ON with the program! Granted I still have to turn in my extension to stay longer and finish such degree, but I can do this! I CAN DO IT.
"What a mighty God we serve.
What a mighty God we serve.
Angels bow before Him
Heaven and Earth adore Him
What a mighty God we serve."
Holly: Don't have much to contribute to this, except I will elaborate on the celabratory happy dance that partook after my class this morning. It definitely turned some heads!!!! XD
But, nevertheless, a major obstacle has been conquered in the Korb realm and life is resuming on a happy scale for today! God is good, better than we can comprehend! I hope that some of you readers can get a taste of the indescribable joy that we feel! :)
blessings!
